Report
At this point of the study I am able to give some suggestions for future best-practice when co-designing with SEN children:

-
Create an online survey to ask the child's parents/guardians what their sensory needs are such as; are they sensitive to certain sounds or colours etc. Each section of the survey must be explained fully to ensure that the participants can understand the questions.
-
Create a simple information sheet for all participants; gatekeeper, parents/guardians and children to ensure full understanding of the study and what is being asked of them.
-
Include fun and interactive, workshops to keep participants engaged.
-
Schedule more time than needed, in the event of absence of participants or alterations in schedule from the gatekeeper.
-
Use low-cost, recycled or craft-based materials throughout the creative workshops and when creating the sensory objects as this will promote sustainability.
-
Keep a journal to takes notes of observations within the creative workshops and feedback sessions to ensure important information or comments aren't forgotten.
